Once in our travels, we visited a family who did their best to make do…

They are afraid that their roof will fall in during the night…

They don’t have safe electricity or doorways with doors…

Some of their walls have already fallen…

They draw their water from a well…

But all these things are not terrible–they can be beautiful even.

What is heart-wrenching is that these people do not know Him.

They live their lives in the darkness.

Away from Him.

Without hope.

Dead.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

We have what they don’t have. We have the light of life. Jesus dwells in us and makes us the light.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

(Matthew 5:14-16)

Please take a moment to lift up these people to Him.  Pray that He would reveal Himself to them.  Pray that they will follow Him in order that they may have the light of life.  And pray that His light would shine in us.
